From the beginning, Freewheeling focused on providing extraordinary holidays to guests, so when asked about their adventure, they would be able to tell their story. This storytelling has helped us grow to become who we are today, and this culture of sharing experiences has expanded into the digital age through the use of social media. People now have the ability to share pictures, videos, ideas, and of course, to share stories with their online network of “friends” or “followers” at their fingertips. We encourage you to tell your story, and would be excited to be included and tagged wherever possible. If you are ever feeling unsure about how to do this, please ask, and we will be happy to guide you.

Intro to Social Media

Social media refers to the means of any digital interaction in which people create, share, and/or exchange information, stories, and ideas within virtual communities and networks.

Understanding Hashtags and Tagging

A hashtag is simply the pound sign (#) that allows you to tag or search for certain words and phrases on each social media platform. On Twitter and Facebook, you will generally use fewer hashtags then you would on Instagram. You can also tag other people and pages using the “@” sign, followed by a username to create a link to that page/person.

At Freewheeling Adventures, we encourage participants to share their photos, videos, experiences, and stories using Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and tag us using the following tags:

#myfreewheelingadventure      #freewheelingadventures      #biketour OR #hiking      #[LOCATION]

Facebook

The world’s largest social network. Users create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including status updates. Brands create pages which Facebook users can “like”.

Instagram

A photo and video sharing app that allows users to apply digital filters, frames and special effects to their photos and then share them on a variety of social networking sites.
